I built Basil because I needed help.

Hi, I'm Craig, the creator of Basil.

Basil isn't built by a big, faceless company. I'm just a dude in Seattle who gained a bit too much weight over the past few years while building Pastmaps. That started as another passion project of mine and turned into my full-time job.

My doctor made it clear that I needed to get my weight in order. I realized I needed a little extra help. So I built Basil.

At first, it was a tool just for me. Then my wife too. What started as something personal became something I had to share with the world.

My mission is simple

Help people live longer, healthier and happier lives.

Basil has felt like the missing piece for me. The difference it's made in my own health journey has been nothing short of magic. I truly hope Basil feels as magical for you.
